THIRD Annual West End Iron Pour Lights Up Schmidt Brewery
[Saint Paul - August 10, 2010] West End Arts (WEA) and the Fort Road Federation are sponsoring the third annual West End Arts Iron Pour September 10, 11, and 12 at the Schmidt Brewery on West Seventh.
Community members can choose to sit back and enjoy the pyrotechnics or participate in the pour by creating a design in a scratch tile sand mold. There will also be a limited number of 3D molds poured.
Scratch tile sand molds will be available at the mold-making workshop Saturday, September 4 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the brewery. Costs for a scratch tile is $15 for West Seventh neighbors and $45 for people outside the neighborhood. 3D molds need to be coordinated ahead of time and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost of 3D castings will be determined on site but will probably range from $45 to $100.
Mold making continues Friday September 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 11 from noon to 5:00 p.m. If you wish to participate, reserve your scratch tile by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or leaving a voice message for her at 651-298-5599. The actual pour is from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
On Sunday, September 12 we'll break the castings out of the molds and clean up from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
